Safeguarding Training

The West Berkshire LSCB Training group produces an annual programme of training events which are open to all practitioners, volunteers and people who work with children within our area.  For full details of the training programme including e-learning packages please click here



West Berkshire Council

West Berkshire Councils Community Learning Team works in partnership with a range of organisations to provide learning programmes and activities for adults and families in West Berkshire.





Community Council for Berkshire

CCB offers a range of training courses, specially designed to support the voluntary sector and community groups.

Training Topics:

  • How to acces funding for your community group
  • 'Meet the Expert' community planning drop in events
  • Workshops on your community rights and neighbourhood planning
  • Cookery and healthy eating classes for children and parents
  • Health & Safety and Risk Assessment advice for volunteers running buildings
  • How to set up a community cinema
  • Large annual conferences on a variety of subjects ranging from environmental issues and how to survive economic change, to build confidence in your community

British Red Cross

The British Red Cross offer First Aid training courses for the workplace or for babies and children through the British Red Cross Centre in Newbury.

Daisy's Dream

Daisy’s Dream is a professional service which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement, in Berkshire and the surrounding areas.

They offer a range of training based around supporting and safeguarding children and young people.

Earley Cresecent Community Resource Centre

Earley Cresecent Community Resource Centre designed to meet the needs of the voluntary and community sector and local residents.

The centre provides training opportunities in computing, first aid, and food saftey.

Wokingham Borough Voluntary Sector Forum

The forum exists to bring together community and voluntary groups, active in the Wokingham Borough area.

Through the WBVSF website you can gain access to numerous training opportunities around the Wokingham and Reading area.

You can also sign up to their news letter to get up to date with the various training events that are happening throughout the year.

Reading Voluntary Action (RVA)

Reading Voluntary Action promotes strength within Reading's voluntary and community sector (VCS) by providing information, access to resources, volunteer recruitment and training to people who work in or with charities, community groups and voluntary organisations.

Oxford Community and Volantry Action (OCVA)

OCVA is the main umbrella organisation for the voluntary and community sector in Oxfordshire. Theirr mission is to enable a diverse voluntary and community sector to flourish. They provide advice, information and training, act as advocates and representatives, and build partnerships.
